Innovation Career Pathways

The Innovation Career Pathway (ICP) program prepares high school students for their future careers. Students take at least two technical and two advanced courses aligned with their chosen pathway, with all course listings available in the Program of Studies. The program culminates in a senior-year capstone project or internship, and also features professional development seminars, workplace experiences, field trips, and industry connections to give students a significant head start.

Participating in an Innovation Pathway offers significant advantages:

  • Specialized Learning: Gain high-level, technical coursework and essential skills, while having the opportunity to receive industry training and credentials
  • Enhanced Marketability: Students gain experience and exposure that will stand out on their resume for colleges and employers
  • Stand Out: Students will differentiate themselves by adding to their transcript 

Timeline for DHS Students Interested in Participating

  • Freshman Year:   Application and interview process 
  • Sophomore Year:   Coursework includes prescribed technical and advanced coursework to meet pathway requirements, industry site visits and community service related opportunities
  • Junior Year:   Coursework includes prescribed technical and advanced coursework to meet pathway requirements, industry site visits and community service related opportunities
  • Senior Year:   Complete required coursework and participate in 100 hour internship/ capstone
